"Naturally there is a difference whether I take part in the training during a long-pole seminar like the one on 11th March, or whether I organise a seminar which is actually intended for my students", says Dai-Sifu Edel, who is especially looking forward to his own classes but benefits from both events. "I also learn by watching, though this not only applies only to WingTsun. Again and again I receive pointers from my Si-Fu which go well beyond the bounds of the martial arts. For me he is not only my Si-Fu, but also my mentor. When I watch him teaching students and structuring his seminars, it e.g. helps me to organise my own seminars better. The grading seminars with Si-Fu are also important to me, so that the students see that what I teach is in line with the EWTO and they see for themselves where the knowledge I pass on comes from."

Regular exchanges with his fellow-Practicians Dai-Sifu Schrön, Dai-Sifu Tausend and Dai-Sifu Schwarz are just as important to Dai-Sifu Edel as learning from Grandmaster Kernspecht. After more than 26 years of WT training together, friendships have long been established in which more than just technical WingTsun is shared. "Exchanges between master colleagues are the be all and end all.

Anybody without a training partner will have problems in learning his own programmes in depth, and he will also lack the exchange of information and experiences. All the better that this is assured in the EWTO. This is one of many advantages one enjoys in such a large association."

A long-pole seminar with Sifu Kernspecht will take place in XXX on 11th March. 4th Technicians and above are permitted to take part.

On 12th March this is followed by a seminar in Völklingen, and on 13th March GM Kernspecht will be Sifu Hans-Peter Edel’s guest in Ramstein.
